My Friend Netflix

Currently at Casa Baisch:
The Time Traveler's Wife - Yes, I know this is a chick flick but the premise sounds kind of neat. Besides, I'm a sucker for time travel stories.
Wanted - Didn't get a chance to see this in theaters but I'm told it's pretty good. It has Terence Stamp so it can't suck, right?

Getting sent back Monday is Doomsday. Like time travel, I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic stuff. However, the movie is pretty much 28 Days Later in the first half, Mad Max in the second, with a dash of what the hell in between.

Waiting in the wings are:
Hollywood Shuffle - I haven't seen this Robert Townsend comedy masterpiece in over 20 years. Whatever happened to Robert Townsend anyway? It seems like he disappeared after Meteor Man.
Martian Child - Based on a David Gerrold novel, a science-fiction writer adopts a kid who claims he's from Mars. I think you can see why this might appeal to me.
Syriana - Oil and politics. Now where have I heard about that before?

I was SO CONFUSED during The Time Traveler's Wife. It wasn't a good chick flick, but it was an interesting premise.

The original novel of The Time Traveler's Wife was actually pretty good. I read it on my wife's recommendation, and though I was skeptical at first, she was right in assuming I'd like it. Nothing in the commercials for the movie made it seem particularly appealing, though.
